I want to tell you that I have really enjoyed working with your packages. We are in the middle of Courage and Conquest right now. I like the flexibility and the ability to adapt it to different ages and abilities, and the fact that it is easy for me to put together additional reading from your list.
I can't write to you without adding how much my children are enjoying history. Just the other evening my daughter was asked what her favourite subject was and she emphatically stated "history!" (I'm just glad I was nearby enough to overhear her!) We are taking much longer than your Courage and Conquest lesson plans are laid out to take, as we keep studying/learning more. I love to tell people that I did not enjoy history when I was in school but absolutely love it now that my children and I are learning it together! I'd have to agree with my daughter and say that history is my favourite subject (and a few years ago I wouldn't believe that I'd ever be saying that.
I've been reading different historical fiction novels relating to Canadian history, that I borrowed from a friend, and my children insist that we must have our own copies of the books! I just can't say enough how much we enjoy history - especially the Canadian history. Thanks for helping out in making this subject the one most looked forward to in our home.
