Saving your pennies?
If you are thinking of the popular DIY penny table project, now is the time to get started.

The Canadian penny, costing 1.6 cents to produce, will no longer be circulated by the Royal Canadian Mint after February 4, 2013.

Pennies are still valid tender for awhile.
