       Africa Bundle
All the resources you need in one pack. Discover first-hand what it’s like to travel over vast seas of orange sand. Experience the nasty smell of a camel’s breath, learn how to bargain in an African market.

With sunnier days, it is difficult to stay inside and get school work done! Why not take your geography and history outside?  Play the compass game with them: have your children start in the middle of your yard and tell them to run north, south, etc. or have them draw a map of your property. Your children will be having so much fun- they won't even realise they're "doing" Geography.
Sit on a blanket with your children and read an historical novel to them.
“The reading of all good books is like conversation with the finest men of the past centuries.”
 - Descartes

Why is Canadian Geography and History so important to study?
Your child is growing up in this country and should know how Canada's history affects the laws that are made today which he/she has to live by.
Your child should have a basic grasp of where he/she lives in relation to other parts of the country. Children's lives are enriched by learning about other cultures in whose land they share.
Think of the  resilience of the Inuit, the knowledge of nature of the Native Canadians, the perserverance of the fishermen out East and the work ethics of the farmers/ranchers out  West. These characteristics are only learned when geography and history are studied and then can be applied to their lives.

Something to think about as you exercise one of the greatest freedoms today: VOTING.
"Under this flag may our youth find new inspiration for loyalty to Canada; for a patriotism based not on any mean or narrow nationalism, but on the deep and equal pride that all Canadians will feel for every part of this good land."
- Lester Pearson

"I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind."
John Diefenbaker
