Fort Walsh

Fort Walsh, built in 1875, was the base for the NWMP after the Cypress Hills Massacre and was intended to help curb the whiskey trade, protect and aid native policy, and strengthen the Canadian side of the border with the United States.

Corporal Cameron

The living, out of print book, Corporal Cameron of the North West Mounted Police A Tale of the Macleod Trail by Ralph Connor was published in 1912 and is available at Project Gutenberg. Ralph Connor, the pen name of Rev. Dr. Charles William Gordon, a Presbyterian/United Church minister, wrote many frontier adventures with strong themes of morality and justice.
